Decorative Grilles, Recessed Lighting
Functional Works of Art – Customer Image
Love receiving pictures of our beautiful functional works of art. A standard louvered vent cover and recessed light would be so unattractive together. The picture does not show us why they chose our Old Wood Finish but it certainly calls attention to these amazing and highly functional works of art.
Performance testing on our Louis XIV style grilles and our Arts & Craft style grilles proves that decorative grilles can compete with ugly louvered vents. As a matter of fact, the two 8″ x 10” grilles were tested with the same equipment used to test louver grilles made by TruAire, Hart & Cooley, Metal-Fab and US Aire. That big yellow fan produced air speed face velocity of 300 to 700 feet per minute pass through of our decorative grilles and our results showed the ability to allow almost exactly the same cubic feet of air per minute (CFMs) to flow through as the stamped metal louvered grilles. The major difference being that at the higher wind speeds of 500 to 700 feet per minute, the louvered grilles produced an irritating high pitched sound. Some of the louvered grille manufacturers footnote their performance data, suggesting that their grilles not be used if the air speed exceeded 450 feet per minute, because the noise levels would be too high. Since Beaux-Arts’ grilles are made from urethane resin, which does not vibrate like thin sheet metal, they are virtually silent in comparison. So if you prefer to look at your grilles rather than to hear the irritating sound they resonate, then the choice is clear. The decorative grilles made by Beaux-Arts Classic Products, have equal performance ratings to louvered grilles, look fabulous and are quiet. At Beaux-Arts, we think grilles should be seen and not heard.
Also shown in our customer image is our Victorian Style decorative recessed light trim. It comes in sizes for all sizes of recessed lighting. It works with incandescent and LED retrofit baffle trims.
